The events have grown steadily in both size and reputation and, this
year, the shows have undergone a massive expansion, making them 60%
larger than the previous year. The shows’ growth is indicative of the
rapid economic growth and industrial boom currently being experienced
in Kazakhstan.
MiningWorld Central Asia and Kazcomak will take place on 19-21 September 2007 in the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty, Kazakhstan, covering 5,000 m² space, both inside and outside. 250 stands at the exhibitions will demonstrate achievements and innovations from over 300 companies. Every year, the events gather specialists, equipment manufacturers and representatives of the mining and heavy construction industry from more than 20 countries: Belarus, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, and USA.
Audited statistics indicate that the MiningWorld Central Asia 2006 event was attended by more than 4,000 trade visitors and 25% of the exhibitors closed deals during the event. In his welcoming address to the participants, Mr. Galym Orazbakov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan, made the following observation: “Annually, exhibitors and visitors of the event enjoy the opportunity to be present at discussions about the latest industry issues, familiarise themselves with cutting-edge machinery and technologies, and exchange mining and metallurgical know-how. The exhibition has become a significant event in the region; it has made a huge contribution to the development of technical and technological resources in Kazakhstan and to increased competitive opportunities for domestic commodity producers”.
